At Future Home Surveys, we believe every home deserves the confidence that comes from a thorough, trustworthy survey. Founded by former Royal Navy Engineering Officer Martin Shortt AssocRICS, our practice is built on precision, reliability and service — values forged through years of discipline and dedication.

After leaving the Navy, Martin completed a Master of Science in Real Estate and worked with several respected firms. Along the way he saw the need for a more personal, client focused approach, so he created Future Home Surveys, placing quality and customer care at the centre of every instruction. We understand that buying a family home is a personal and often emotional journey.

That is why we encourage direct communication with your surveyor at every stage. Before the inspection we talk through your priorities to make sure the right survey is chosen. After you receive the report you can speak with the surveyor again to walk through the findings and recommendations in plain English. Our reports are tailored to the individual property and your specific requirements.

They are clear, free of jargon, illustrated with photographs, and prepared by surveyors who are under no pressure to meet sales targets — guaranteeing thorough work and considered advice every time. We are proud to be a local firm with deep roots in the community. Martin and his family live close to the border between Shropshire and Mid Wales, an area he has known since childhood.
